Mini Cooper Oil Change
The Mini Service Display will alert you when it’s time for an oil change. This will vary, depending on your climate and driving conditions, but in general it’s every 7,500 miles.
Your Mini Cooper oil change will include:
- Change oil and oil filter
- Inspect brakes (including parking brake)
- Check brake pads and rotors, clean brake pad contact points
- Check fluid levels and adjust as necessary
- Grease wheel centering hubs
- Examine tires for wear and pressure
- Reset service interval display
Mini Inspection 1
The Mini Service Display will alert you when it’s time for a Mini Inspection 1, which is more comprehensive than the Oil Change. The timing for Inspection 1 will depend on the model and year of your Mini, and on your driving conditions. In addition to the services provided in the Oil Change, in your Mini Inspection 1 we will:
- Change Interior Ventilation Filter
- Change transmission fluid (CVT, continuously variable transmission only)
- Check wipers and washers and add fluid if necessary
- Lubricate doors and locks
- Check battery condition
- Check suspension
- Check CV (constant velocity) boots condition
- Examine exhaust system
- Check manual transmission fluid level (if applicable)
- Pressure check cooling system
- Reset the Service Interval Indicator
After performing the tasks included in your MINI Inspection 1, we’ll take your MINI Cooper on a road test to examine overall performance.
Mini Inspection 2
Your Mini Service Display will alert you when it’s time for a Mini Inspection 2. This includes all the services performed in the Oil Change and in the Mini Inspection 1, plus we will provide the following services:
- Change the air filter
- Change the engine coolant
- Flush brake fluid
Periodic Mini services we perform regardless of mileage
- Flush brake fluid every 2 years
- Change engine coolant every 4 years
Periodic Mini services we perform with Inspection 2 as your miles increase
- At 100,000 miles, change the serpentine belt, for all models except the Cooper S. This belt is changed in the Cooper S at 60,000 miles.
- At 100,000 miles, we’ll replace the oxygen sensor.
- At 100,000 miles, we’ll replace the spark plugs.
- After 50,000 miles, consider replacing the water pump and thermostat.
